Schedule and Daily Procedures

Arrival and Dismissal

(LS) Morning drop-off:  Upon entering CHS in the morning, LS students will go directly to their classrooms to begin their day with their cohort. They will enter the building through the main lobby.

(LS) Dismissal:  Students will remain in their cohorts spread out around the circle (as in the past) while waiting for parents to pick them up.

(US) Arrival:  Students in grades 6-12 will enter the building through one of three places: the Upper School Office entrance, the base of the library entrance, or the loading dock entrance. Students arriving prior to 7:20 a.m. will not be permitted to gather in the lobby and will be assigned to a classroom to wait for their first class; the Upper School principal will coordinate a supervised space for these students. Students arriving after 7:20 a.m. will go straight to their first period class.

(LS & US) Wednesday TE@CH schedule:  Please note that this is a change from last year’s Thursday TE@CH schedule. The Wednesday TE@CH time will provide an opportunity for ongoing, collaborative professional development among the CHS faculty and staff. On Wednesdays, school will begin at 9:00 a.m.

(US) Dismissal:  Students in grades 6-8 will be accompanied by faculty to designated outdoor locations for pick-up. Students in grades 9-12 will have a staggered dismissal by grade level and/or by these groupings: bus students, athletes, and student drivers.

(LS & US) Regular Day (M, T, Th, F) schedule:  There will be no change to the starting or ending time from last year.

Before/After School Supervision

On Wednesday mornings, while the faculty and staff have professional development, childcare will be provided for students in grades K-5 from 7:20 a.m. to 8:50 a.m. for families who have a work-related reason to drop off early. Kingsmen Kids will continue to be offered after school. Upper School students who have to stay beyond 2:45 p.m. will be assigned to a supervised classroom and must be picked up by 3:30 p.m.
