| The athletic program at Christian
Heritage is designed to help students at all levels of athletic ability
enhance their skill and grow in their appreciation of physical fitness.
Whether a student-athlete is a potential Division I collegiate prospect
or just interested in participating solely for the enjoyment of competing,
our athletic program offers something for everyone. We encourage all
students to participate in at least one sport. A student’s involvement
in athletics at Christian Heritage will teach them the importance
of teamwork, sportsmanship and hard work; all in a safe and nurturing
Christian environment. Many of our coaches are full or part-time faculty
members as well, allowing our student-athletes to form character-building
relationships with their coaches that extend beyond the classroom.
Students from 6th to 12th grade are eligible to compete in inter-scholastic
programs. We offer sports at the Middle School, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels. Sports currently offerred include basketball, baseball, softball, soccer, volleyball,
tennis, and cross country. All students and their parents are required
to complete an Athletic Expectation & Eligibility Requirements Form prior to a student’s participation
in any sport and they must also have a current CHS
Athletic Team Health Examination & Recommendations Form on file
prior to trying out for any sport.
Christian Heritage participates in a number of different athletic conferences,
associations and tournaments that allow us to create the best possible
experience for our student-athletes. We are a member of the Fairchester
Athletic Association (FAA), the Connecticut Independent School Athletic
Conference (CISAC), the New England Christian School Athletic Conference
(NECSAC), the Western New England Preparatory School Athletic Association
(WNEPSAA) and are governed by the New England Preparatory School Athletic
Council (NEPSAC). Also, beginning with the 2008-2009 school year, Christian Heritage will be a member of the prestigious Hudson Valley Athletic League (HVAL) as well. The members of these conferences include some of the
most competitive sports programs in New England and New York state.
Through our highly-competitive varsity sports programs, Christian Heritage
teams have won many league and conference titles. Our athletes have also
been selected to many All-Tournament, All-League, All-State, All-New England
and All-American teams. Check out our listing of Athletic
Awards won by our teams and players. As a result of these accolades,
many of our student-athletes have been recruited by and played for some
of the best Division I, II, III and NAIA colleges and universities in
the country. Student-athletes that are considering athletics at the collegiate
level should review our Guidelines
for College Recruits. |
