Please note there will be an All-Sports Athletics Town Hall Meeting on Tuesday, September 8th at 7:30pm in the CHS gym. Any student interested in any sport throughout the year, including all the fall sports listed above as well as the winter sports (basketball) and spring sports (baseball, softball, tennis, frisbee) at any level (Middle School, JV, Varsity) is required to attend with at least one parent. This one meeting replaces the Athletic Kick-Off Meetings we had at the beginning of each season in years past. This will be an opportunity to meet the coaches, learn about our philosophy regarding athletics, understand the costs associated with each sport, and the best way for student-athletes to excel and parents to support athletics at CHS.
Full schedules will be available on the first day of school (9/2). Please contact Mr. Rick Vieira at rvieira@kingsmen.org if you have any questions.
CHS TAG SALE- SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 12
Clean out those closets! The CHS Fall Tag Sale is less than 2 weeks away, on Saturday, September 12 from 8:00am-1:30pm. This is a rain or shine event being held in the gym and we need your stuff to make it a success! Items of any kind (except for computer and skiing equipment) are welcome! Items can be dropped off at CHS on Friday, September 11...more details to follow. Due to space constraints, we are unable to accept items prior to Friday...thank you for understanding.
For more information or to volunteer, please contact Lisa Caporaso (256-8984 or caporaso@sbcglobal.net) or Lisa Holeva (261.6230 ext. 590 or lholeva@kingsmen.org). Thanks!
In addition to item donations, volunteers are also needed to help with the following:
· Set up, pricing and sorting - Friday after school until 10:00pm
· Working the sale - Saturday 7:30am until 1:30pm
· Breaking down the sale and bringing extra items to charity - Saturday 1:30 to 3:30pm
· Also, if you have a truck or large vehicle and can assist with picking up items on Friday, or bringing items to charity on Saturday, please let us know.
PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES
There will be two opportunities to pray as a parent community for the school each week.
1) Moms In Touch - meets Monday mornings after drop-off in the Blue House Conference Room. Upper and lower school moms are welcome to pray for their children and the needs of the school. This is a great time of uplifting prayer! Please come as a participant or if you are interested in helping to facilitate the meeting, contact Janice Obrecht at 255-2720 or jobrecht1@aol.com. Begins September 14th.
2) Upper School Prayer – meets Friday mornings after drop-off starting September 11th and is led by Marta DeBlock. Moms and Dads are welcome to pray for the needs of our upper school. This group meets in the Facilities office. Let's be intentional about lifting our middle and high school up in prayer!
