Mrs. Olson joined the CHS community in 2003, first as a parent and volunteer, then serving as a K-12 substitute teacher, Lower School Art Teacher, Annual Fund Director, and now as Director of Admissions.

Martha has had a diverse background in education--she was a home-educator for six years, and in a classical school for three years before moving to Connecticut. In her own experience, she attended a Montessori school, parochial school, public school, private school, English boarding school, private college, art institute and state university. Martha received her Bachelors from Randolph-Macon Women's College and worked in corporate communications and marketing before having a family.

She and her husband, Rick, have five children, three of whom are CHS students, and two who are CHS alumni. Martha enjoys reading, outdoor recreation, art museums and traveling. The Olsons are active members of Christ Presbyterian Church (PCA) in New Haven.
