Dan Cote has been with CHS since 2009. He teaches all levels of physics. He also teaches honors chemistry, and the physics portion of the seventh grade physical sciences class. Dan previously taught physics and chemistry at Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury. Prior to teaching, Dan worked in the semiconductor industry in the development of advanced microlithography systems used in the production of computer chips. He last served as VP of engineering for Silicon Valley Group.
Dan received a B.S in Mechanical engineering from the University of Maine and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bridgeport. Dan is an adjunct faculty member of the UConn Early College Experience program and is a certified instructor in physics. Dan also received an M. Min. in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary and serves as the Associate Pastor of the Second Congregational Church in Winsted, CT.
Dan and his wife, Nancy, have a son and a daughter who attend Quinnipiac University and Northeastern University respectively.
Dan greatly enjoys his work as a teacher and sees teaching as an opportunity to motivate young people to expand the boundaries of their knowledge and capabilities, to consider careers in science and engineering, and to see God’s amazing creation as a revelation of His power, majesty, and abiding love.
